Running Excel and Adding Data

Getting Excel to calculate the y values

Select cell B1

Enter the formula that calculates the current value. Enter the formula as you would on the calculator except:

Start the formula with the equals sign.

Use the asterisk for multiplication

Use the carat for exponents

Use the cell address (A1), rather than the actual value for the x value

Excel will display the value of the car after year 0 in the cell

Copy the formula into the other cells by selecting B1

Click the Copy icon

Excel will display an animated dotted line around the cell

Position the cursor over the B2 cell and press, but do not release, the mouse button.
