Mr. Kretsch attended Middletown's Village school in the early 60's. Among his memories are summers at the beach, "Thrill Hill", the Hazlet Drive-in, and hearing of President Kennedy's assassination while riding down Kings' Highway on the school bus. After several moves, Mr. Kretsch graduated from Amesbury, Massachusetts, High School. He then received his BA in Mathematics from Boston University and his MS in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology.

 

Mr. Kretsch worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories and Tyco Submarine Systems for 22 years. He has been teaching math and computer science at Middletown High School South for since 2002.

 

Mr Kretsch's wife, Jamie, teaches Information Technology at Monmouth University. His oldest daughter is a systems engineer with Raytheon in Burlington Massachusetts; his youngest daughter is studying aquaculture and fisheries science at the University of Rhode Island.

 

Here at South Mr. Kretsch is adviser for the Computer club and is the school's webmaster.

 

In the community Mr. Kretsch is plays trumpet for the Eatontown Municipal Band, is a member of the Eatontown Environmental Commission, and is a trustee of the Eatontown Library.
